Does the Human Rights Act, for which Spain (and by default, Catalonia) is a signatory, actually say ' a right to live on your property' or ' a right to enjoy your property' Two vastly different meanings under a legal argument.

I would also urge people to contact their bank managers - whether they have a mortgage or not. Banks are exposed to this - they cannot currently sell on properties that have been repossessed without a cedula, and the longer this goes on the greater the potential for more repossessions....

Thanks for the article Rosie. It is good to have some the info together somewhere.
I believe the power given to the Catalans by the Spanish government has gone to their heads. I think this specific law will be the last straw and that they have stuck their necks out too far this time.
Yes, I did ask the question whether I, as a European citizen, have the right to live on my own piece of land, unhindered, in Spain, in Europe? This issue of the Cedula, (Certificate of habitation) indicates the answer to that question is NO.
I think a lot of other irregularities (with regard to Europe) will become exposed now. A U-turn IS THE ONLY SOLUTION on this issue, but, further to this, there are many other issues relating to our Human Rights and European Rights that should be questioned. Do the Ajuntamiento's and Generalitat have any Data Protection act in place?
So many questions.... and this is not a theoretical discussion for politicians and couch potatoes (SLACKTIVISTS) - it affects real people in the real world, right now!
Please feel free to post any visual or audio materials you have on this issue on www.Ebro.TV
